How We Help

AACF Programs

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) led by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is one of the largest volunteer efforts in the nation. RSVP engages older adults (age 55+) in a diverse range of volunteer activities that address critical community needs.

Citizenship Integration

AACF offers a year-round program with weekly classes and one-on-one civics coaching available. The goal is to prepare applicants for the citizenship test through studying American history and government.

Maternal & Child Health

AACF hosts FREE monthly educational Baby Showers for pregnant women on topics such as Labor & Delivery, Nutrition, Breastfeeding, Postpartum & New Baby Care. At the end of each class, we raffle off baby items and give out baby clothes, diapers and wipes.

Workforce Development

Connect with us to access there resources and many more! - One-on-one guidance with a professional case manager - Information about scholarships or funding for training in high-demand industries - A wide variety of job search workshops - Career Counseling

Community Health Workers (CHW)

Our Community Health Workers (CHWs) is a certificate-based training program and the first of its kind in Frederick County. CHWs are frontline public health workers with a strong understanding of the communities they serve.

English As a Second Language

AACF offers year-round English classes in three proficiency levels. Each level covers speaking, reading, and writing English.

Health & Human Services

AACF provides prenatal and parenting classes, the Little Free Library, and the yearly free Health Fair for our ethnic and immigrant communities.

Interpreter/Translation Services

AACF provides interpreter services to community members to improve access to education, health and social services. Interpreters are paid by service providers.

Our Mission

Enrich the future of Frederick County by equipping all immigrants to become independent, and self-sufficient contributors to their communities and society at large!

Founded in 2005, the Learning Institute of Enrichment and Discovery, Inc (L&D), the parent entity of Asian American Center of Frederick (AACF), saw a need for additional academic enrichment in the immigrant community. The name was changed to focus on the Asian American Community, as the Board of Directors recognized the continued unmet needs due to a lack of resources. Despite our name, AACF’s door remains open to all.
