What is Hepatitis B?
AACF works closely with Hepatitis B Initiative – Washington DC and Frederick County Hepatitis Clinic. This is a Free service we provide to the community. Since 2010, we provide screening services at our annual health fair. We found that there are 50% of those who received screening will need vaccine and 5% of those who are screened would need treatment for positive infection. With HBI-DC, we also provide Education Information about hepatitis B. With the support from the Mayland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, we received FREE vaccines for those who need them at our FREE Hepatitis Vaccination Services for safe, effective vaccines to prevent hepatitis B infection. For those who need treatment and follow up, we provide linkages to Care: Referrals to appropriate medical treatment for people who test positive for the Hepatitis B virus.
